THE YOGA IMPACT CHARITY APPROACH:

The Yoga Impact Charity has been providing inclusive, evidence based trauma informed yoga in the community to thousands of people since 2015. We recognise the powerful impact that the practice of Yoga can have on psychological and physical wellbeing and the growing evidence base in this space. Our methodology is evaluated and gives our not-for-profit, healthcare providers, government and community partners an understanding about the tangible impact yoga can have.

We now seek to grow the number of Yoga Teachers in our community who can share accessible Yoga classes with a diverse range of people who wouldn't otherwise have access to the benefits of the practice.

After completing this program, you will be ready to lead evidence based Trauma Informed Yoga Programs in your community. Examples of programs might include:

  • Integrating Trauma Informed Principles to Yoga classes at a Studio

  • A yoga program with newly arrived refugee children

  • A yoga for Aboriginal women

  • A yoga program for veterans

  • A yoga program for survivors of family violence

  • A yoga program for asylum seekers at a detention centre

  • A yoga program for mental health workers

  • A yoga program at an Australian Defence Force Barracks

  • Integrating yoga into your work as a psychologist, doctor or nurse

  • A yoga program for refugee women healing from torture co-facilitated with a Psychologist
